Mandatory/recommended preliminary courses
Description The course has two parts: theory and practice. The aim of the course is to introduce students into the theoretical background of international politics and international political economy, to show them those powerful economic, political, social and cultural forces that have shaped the world until recent times. A particular attention will be paid to such topics, as chaos or order; war or peace; peacemaking and diplomacy; politics and nation state; the interrelation of politics, economics and society, capitalism models and the future of capitalism/market economy; development of the present world order and international institutions, like the UN, the Bretton Woods institutions and NATO; globalization and its dimensions; regionalism and regional integrations; development and future challenges of the EU; civil society and NGOs; cultural and sport diplomacy.

Course requirements
A kurzus vizsgatárgy. A félév végi értékelés az elméleti és gyakorlati óra összesített teljesítménye alapján történik. Az aláírás feltétele min. 50 %-os összteljesítmény, minden részfeladatot teljesítve. Amennyiben valamelyik nincs teljesítve, a hallgató nem kap aláírást. Azok a hallgatók, akiknek az összesített érdemjegye min. közepes, megajánlott jegyet kaphatnak (vizsgakurzus).
Evaluation criteria
A kurzus vizsgatárgy. A félév végi értékelés az elméleti és gyakorlati óra összesített teljesítménye alapján történik. Az aláírás feltétele min. 50 %-os összteljesítmény, minden részfeladatot teljesítve (min. pont: 50+12/elmélet+25/gyakorlat). Amennyiben valamelyik nincs teljesítve, a hallgató nem kap aláírást. Azok a hallgatók, akiknek az összesített érdemjegye min. közepes (max.170 pont), megajánlott jegyet kaphatnak (vizsgakurzus).
Teaching method and grading: Lectures, in class student individual and group tasks, activity
Theory: mid-term and final paper, mini tests (120 scores)
Practice: individual and group assignments (written assignments, oral presentations, group tasks and discussions), class attendance and participation (50 scores)
