Media and Journalism
The technological embeddedness of journalism and the media – from daily papers to social networking sites – offers an opportunity for a constant reinterpretation of the profession. The aim of the research conducted at our department is, on the one hand, to explore and model these discourses, in particular with regard to questions such as who counts as a 'journalist' and who does not, and how the ethics of journalism are related to the media platforms used for journalistic purposes. Besides these questions, we also research the history of Hungarian digital media, and policy questions related to the current transformation of the digital ecosystem.
