Site specific and community art as a way for the places creation and recycling
The art, in many Western European countries, plays an important role in defining the future of neglected post-industrial areas. The presence of artists attracted by vast and cheap spaces constituted the beginning of the development of the service sector, entering the place of industry and increasing the value of these areas.
I present two forms of public art: site specific art and community art and their significance in creating spaces and processing (recycling) post-industrial spaces. I also try to answer the question: what does it mean that space has the symbolic value. I present a case study - artistic action "Recycling" which involved fishing port workers (as actors). It's not just about transforming physical objects, but also about recycling the memory, about saving places mentally (or its degradation).
